Music Director Notes

"Captain Beefheart + H.H.B. formed in 1964 and went on to create some of the most difficult, jaded + bizarre music ever. Often C.B. + H.H.B. provided an intriging mix of free jazz, blue, prog-rock + psychedellia. These early recordings dispell the myth that most of Beefheart's songs were created a few hours before they were added to the album. This compilation has some early demos which illustrate C.B. + H.H.B. creative process, + some great + live sessions. This also serves as testament to how impatient R+B + Blues were to the early meantime of Beefheart. This is Awesome. This is Influential. Play! Play! Play!"
